Service Police Interviews

If the Service Police wish to interview you as a suspect- you are entitled to free and independent legal advice during that interview.

It makes no difference if you are an officer or enlisted in the UK, posted overseas or deployed on Operations.

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO HAVE FREE LEGAL ADVICE DURING THE INTERVIEW.

What occurs during service police interviews will often have a crucial impact upon the rest of the case and may have a profound impact upon the career and reputation of the person being interviewed.

It is a fundamental and very important right. It is therefore a source of concern and frustration to lawyers that many servicemen - unlike civilians - choose to be interviewed by the police without a lawyer present. This right even exists if you are interviewed by the civilian police, including the Ministry of Defence Police.

If you need representation for an interview- please follow this link for our partners or ask for the Duty Solicitor.
